The Quick, Long List of Thanksgiving Recipes

Okay, so you want your child to help cook in the kitchen this holiday season, but not sure what to make or where to start. No worries! We created a Pinterest Board just for you. Below are some of our favorites so far.

Snacks:
Pumpkin Spice Pretzels
Thanksgiving Snack Mix

Appetizers:
Cheesy Bacon Corn Dip
Sweet Potato or Apple Chips
Spinach-Artichoke Dip
Baked Brie bites
Cheese Ball/Log
Charcuterie/Fruit/Veggie Boards
Bacon Wrapped Pickles

Sides:
Cranberry Fluff
Cinnamon-Glazed Carrots
Applesauce
Macaroni and Cheese
Bread in a Bag
Cornbread

Desserts:
Mini Caramel Apples
Acorn Candy Cookies
Homemade marshmallows
Anything with Jell-O
Brownies and Fudge

Drinks:
Harvest Cider
Any type of fruit punch
Hot chocolate bombs

Other Helpful Food Prep Tasks:

  • Peeling corn or snapping beans
  • Using an crank apple peeler/corer
  • Cracking eggs (wash hands immediately after!)
  • Measuring drying ingredients (wet ingredients if they are older)
  • Whisking and mixing
  • Finishing garnishes
  • Crushing cookies, nuts, French onions, etc in a bag

If they are older…

  • Peeling and slicing potatoes and carrots
  • Using a mandolin, stand mixer, or food processor
  • Opening cans
  • Setting food timers
