Podcast Playlist: March 2024

We’re throwing in another installment of Podcast Playlist pre-Spring Break. It’s been quite a haul to get through all these blog posts, leading up to our two-week Spring Blog Break. So if you are hitting the road for warmer climes or enjoying a staycation with your kids, download a couple of these parenting podcast episodes and see if you like them.

Brainy Moms
This is a new podcast I found last week and it totally fits our vibe. Brainy Moms for moms who want to approach parenting in a smart, practical, research-driven way. It also encourages us to always keep learning about this motherhood role and how to better navigate parenting this generation. The most recent podcasts are for the tween/teen moms, but their content does span into the early stages of child development.
S4, Ep. 406 – The 411 on Cognitive Skills: What They Are, How They’re Trained, and How Strong Skills Make Learning Easier

TILT ParentingTPP 365: Dr. Alok Kanojia Explains How to Raise Healthy Gamers
We just landed on the TILT Parenting podcast this month, focusing on parenting kids who are “differently wired”. A nice throwback to our last Child(ish) Reads review, and good conversation.

Huberman LabDr. Beck Kennedy: Protocols for Excellent Parenting & Improving Relationships of All Kinds
Mary has been digging this podcast, so it was a pleasant surprise to have Dr. Becky as a guest last month.

All Things Sensory #293 Sensory Processing Red Flags in Infants and Toddlers
A quick supplement for Tuesday’s post on development milestones and early intervention. This episode brings in the sensory processing element.

Moms Don’t Have Time to Read BooksJennifer Breheny Wallace, NEVER ENOUGH: When Achievement Culture Becomes Toxic
Chelsey Goodan, UNDERESTIMATED: The Wisdom and Power of Teenage Girls
Zibby Owens’ podcast pretty much directly feeds into my TBR list. Episodes are 30 minutes, so they are easy to binge. She also covers fiction and memoir titles.

Audible Original: A Quiet Life in 7 Steps by Susan Cain
Not exactly a podcast, but not an audiobook. Susan Cain is the author of Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking and in this series, she talks about cutting back and leaning into the Quiet Life. I especially liked the chapter on quiet leadership.

TBH, navigating the podcast game has been a little difficult. We don’t want to pigeon-hole ourselves into only listening to parenting and self-help. True Crime is a bit daunting unless you’re already into it, and I’m definitely not going to recommend all of the Bravo recap podcasts in my account.
