Iโd like to thank my previous self for the resolution mindset of โLifeโs tough. Get a helmet.โ, because there is some bad juju going on, on every level. I also got Norovirus over the weekend, so thatโs fun and games.

I think we all start the year with the best intentions. In 2024, I wanted to continue along my path, just keeping things steady and predictable. Iโd had enough upheaval and just wanted to get through my life.
Around November however, I had a regrettable crash out and I know now something big needs to change. I donโt think Iโve ever been this stressed or frustrated with a particular component of my life. This went beyond just setting boundaries or just getting things done.
I turn 40 at the end of the summer. In order to get where I want to be by then, I want to go big. Whether that means finding a new job or diving into a new field, weโll be doing some hardcore recalibrating.
Continue readingThe glimmer and glow of the holiday season has seemingly come to an end. The lights and decorations go back in their boxes, the tree is put away (or finds its new purpose as mulch), and the joy of opening presents will need to wait until the next birthday or holiday event. Although most of us are just fine with the holiday season ending and look forward to going back to the usual, some of us, especially kiddos, struggle with the shift.
Continue readingMary and I were in Las Vegas in February 2019 when she told me she wanted to start an OT blog. We talked about content and social media, and how the blog would combine her love of science with her training and with modern parenting. By November, she was ready to pull the trigger.

I was happy to join her on the project behind the scenes, but becoming a contributor in July has been an awesome collaboration. I knew I approached parenting in a different way, but this blog has helped me explore how being a good parent also helps me be a stronger partner and a better role model for my kids.
